Tractor Trailer Pulls Down Utility Pole Resulting in Road Closure

Fairfield (NJ) On June 12, 2017, at approximately 12:38 P.M., the Fairfield Police and Fire Departments responded to a motor vehicle crash on Passaic Avenue in the area of Pier Lane West involving tractor trailer that apparently took down a low-hanging wire. As a result, a utility pole was also pulled down across Passaic Avenue and a solar light panel that was attached to the pole became impaled in the trailer of the truck. Passaic Avenue was closed for 90 minutes while utility crews worked to shut power down and to clean up the debris associated with the crash. The road was reopened at approximately 2:10 PM.

The driver of the truck was identified as John Prato of Passaic, N.J. and the tractor is owned by Trade Show Technologies of West Caldwell, N.J.
