Fairfield Police Welcome New Officers and a New Dispatcher

Fairfield (NJ) The Fairfield Mayor and Council formally welcomed two new probationary police officers, two Class II special police officers, one Class III special police officer and a dispatcher to the ranks of the police department as follows:

  • Police Officer James Ciampi- Officer Ciampi was raised in Fairfield. He obtained a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice, with a minor in Labor Studies from Rutgers University. In October 2016, he was appointed as a Class II Special Police Officer with the Fairfield Police Department. He attended the Essex County Police Academy as part of the SLEO II Class #16-2 where he earned the Physical Training Award. He was hired as a probationary police officer with the Fairfield Police Department on October 24, 2017

 

  • Police Officer Jayson Sickles- Officer Sickles was raised in Passaic County. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Behavioral and Social Sciences with a major in Criminal Justice from Marist College. In October 2016, he was appointed as a Class II Special Police Officer with the Fairfield Police Department. He attended the Essex County Police Academy as part of the SLEO II Class #16-2 where he was an executive company officer. He was hired as a probationary police officer with the Fairfield Police Department on October 24, 2017

 

  • Class II Special Police Officer Michael Tilton- SO Tilton was raised in Morris County. He graduated from Monmouth University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Homeland Security. He went on to attend the Essex County Police Academy SLEO II Class #16-1 as a member of the Hoboken Police Department. While attending the academy, he served as the executive officer for his class. He resigned from the Hoboken Police Department and officially joined the Fairfield Police Department on November 13, 2017. Michael is the son of retired Fairfield Police Detective Walter Tilton.

 

  • Class II Special Police Officer Nicholas Cocchi- SO Cocchi was raised in Fairfield. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Montclair State University. He attended the Essex County Police Academy SLEO II Class #16-2 as a member of the Parsippany Police Department. While there, he was squad leader and earned the Dr. A. Zachary Yamba Academic Award. He resigned from the Parsippany Police Department on November 27, 2017 and joined the Fairfield Police Department the same day.

 

  • Dispatcher Tiffany Thomas- Dispatcher Thomas was raised in Bergen County. She graduated from William Paterson University where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology. She most recently was a full time dispatcher with the Waldwick, N.J. Police Department for approximately five years and a part time dispatcher with the Allendale Police Department for about a year. She started working for the Fairfield Police Department on November 13, 2017.
