Fairfield (NJ) – The Fairfield Police Department announces the arrest of Bryan Estevez, (34) of Fairfield, NJ for receiving stolen property on September 11, 2023.  On that date at approximately 11:25 am, Officer Sean McCormack was monitoring traffic on Fairfield Road.  He observed a vehicle pass his location bearing a Georgia temporary registration that was partially obstructed, making it difficult to read.

Officer McCormack was eventually able to read the registration showing the vehicle had been registered in August of 2023. However, he recalled seeing this exact vehicle in the past bearing a different temporary registration.  He then checked the VIN number through his mobile data computer, and the vehicle was determined to have been reported stolen from Lodi, NJ, in 2022.

A traffic stop was conducted, and Estevez was placed under arrest.  He was transported to police headquarters for processing and released pending an initial court appearance at the Essex County Courthouse in Newark, NJ.

(Charges are merely allegations until the defendant is proven guilty or pleads guilty in a court of law).

Issued by: Officer Stacy Chiarolanza (PIO)
