FBI Sees Rise in Fraud Schemes Related to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic

The Fairfield Police Department would like to caution its citizens that, as indicated in Governor Murphy’s March 21st  press conference, there is a strong indication of a coordinated misinformation campaign being conducted from sources outside of the United States concerning a declaration of Marshall Law in the United States in order to spread panic through our communities. All citizens are advised to obtain any information relating to the COVID-19 emergency from a reliable, public government source and refrain from passing on rumors and misinformation.
