Fairfield (NJ) On July 13, 2022, at approximately 4:18 PM, the Fairfield Police Department received a 9-1-1 call reporting a house fire on Big Piece Road. Police, fire, and EMS were immediately dispatched to the location.
First responding officers found all occupants and petswere out of the home. Officers observed a heavy fire condition with flames coming out of the windows of a second-floor bedroom.
Firefighters from the Fairfield, North Caldwell and West Caldwell Fire Departments arrived on the scene and began firefighting activities. At approximately 4:50 PM, the fire was declared extinguished. While there were no reported injuries, the West Essex First Aid Squad and an ambulance from Atlantic Healthcare stood by to rehab firefighters due to the heat.
The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Fairfield Fire Prevention Bureau.
