Fairfield (NJ) The Fairfield Police Department announce the arrest of Vincent Evelina (25) of Garfield, NJ for lewdness, harassment and endangering the welfare of a child on March 9, 2023. On that date at approximately 8:10 am, Evelina placed a curbside pick-up order at the Fairfield McDonald’s. When an employee brought theorder to Evelina, the victim allegedly observed the suspect committing a lewd act inside the vehicle. The employee returned to the restaurant but did not report the incident to police at that time. Later in the same day, at approximately 5:49 pm, Evelina returned again to the McDonald’s and placed another curbside order. A juvenile employee delivered the order to the car, and also allegedly witnessed Evelina committing a lewd act. The juvenile victim reported the incident to their boss who immediately called police to report both incidents.
Upon the officer’s arrival to McDonald’s, Evelina had already left the area. Through witness descriptions and video footage obtained from McDonald’s, Evelina was positively identified as the suspect. Fairfield police then issued an arrest warrant for lewdness, harassment and endangering the welfare of a child.
On March 12, 2023, Evelina surrendered to Fairfield authorities on that warrant. Evelina was transported to the Essex County Correctional Facility pending an appearance in the Superior Court in Newark, N.J.
On February 12, 2023, Fairfield authorities charged Evelina with lewdness and harassment for allegedly committing a similar lewd act in the parking lot of Target. This case is still before the court.
(It should be noted that the charges against Evelinaare merely allegations and that there is a presumption of innocence until Evelina either pleads guilty or is found guilty in a court of law)
