Good Samaritans, Officers Save Boy Who Collapsed

Fairfield (NJ) – On Saturday, December 13, 2024 at approximately 4:09 pm, the Fairfield Police Department received 911 calls from Kids Empire, located at 437 Route 46 West, for a report of a child, age 9, who collapsed and was not breathing.  The child’s name is being withheld due to their age and the nature of the call.

Sergeant Brian Sabatelli, corporal David Lagan and officers Louis Bisciotti and Daniel Kalinowski arrived on scene and found two Good Samaritans performing CPR on the child.  They took over until medical personnel arrived on scene.  The child was taken to a local hospital for further treatment.

It is reported that the child’s condition has improved but will require additional medical treatment.

“A miracle,” said Public Information Officer Stacy Chiarolanza.  “The immediate response by the two good Samaritans allowed officers and medical personnel the time to arrive without any delay to the child.  Performing CPR can be an emotional task, but having to do it on a child is something no one ever wants to do.  There’s nothing more to say than this was the absolute best outcome for such a terrible situation.  We pray for the child and their family and hope for a full recovery.”
