New York Trio Charged with Shoplifting from Target

airfield (NJ) The Fairfield Police Department announce the arrest of Michaela Farquharson (25), of Selkirk, NY, Reggie Lloyd (41), of Albany, NY, and Christine Swart (20), of Saugerties, NY for shoplifting on March 26, 2023.

On that date at approximately 7:52 pm, Target asset protection contacted police headquarters stating theyallegedly observed Lloyd and Swart pushing out a shopping cart full of merchandise without paying, and placing some of the items into a white Toyota Rav-4.

Upon arrival on scene, Corporal David Lagan and Officer Gia Gagliano located the vehicle in the parking lot of the BP gas station.  Both Swart and Farquharson were detained for further investigation.  Lloyd was later located with the assistance of North Caldwell police inside of the Quick Check on Passaic Avenue.

Additional items were discovered in the vehicle, and it was determined that they did not belong to the Fairfield Target.  They were confiscated until the trio could provide receipts or it can be determined where the items were allegedly taken from.

After further investigation, all three were placed under arrest for shoplifting and were transported to police headquarters for processing.  Lloyd was charged with shoplifting and conspiracy.  Swart was charged with shoplifting, conspiracy and hindering apprehension.  Farquharson was charged with conspiracy.  All three were then released pending a May 18, 2023 appearance at the Superior Court in Newark, NJ.

(It should be noted that the charges are merely allegations and that there is a presumption of innocence until the accused either pleads guilty or is found guilty in a court of law)
