Fairfield (NJ) It is with deep sadness and regret that the department announces the passing of former Officer Raymond Benson on December 29, 2022. While Officer Benson’s tenure with the Fairfield Police Department was for a brief time in the 1960’s, he went on to serve the Fairfield Fire Department for over 50 years and was a past chief of that department. He also served Fairfield as a valuable member of the Department of Public Works.
There will be a memorial service at the Keri Funeral Home located in Lincoln Park on Wednesday January 4, 2023, with a viewing taking place from 10 AM until 12 PM. It will be followed by a Fairfield Fire Department Service. The burial will immediately follow at the Hillside Cemetery in Fairfield.
The police department will be providing Officer Benson with full department honors and sends prayers to his family and friends at this very difficult time.
