Paterson Resident Charged with Shoplifting From Target

Fairfield (NJ) The Fairfield Police Department announces the arrest of Raymond Walters (35) of Paterson, NJ for shoplifting on March 20, 2023. On that date at approximately 12:16 pm, Target asset protection contacted the Fairfield Police stating they had an individual in custody for shoplifting. Officers responded and reviewed security footage showing Walters allegedly taking merchandise, and walking past all points of sale before being stopped by Target employees.

Officer James Ciampi then placed Walters under arrest. Walters was transported to police headquarters, processed, and charged with shoplifting. Walters was later released pending a May 11, 2023 court appearance at the Essex County Courthouse.

(It should be noted that the charges against Walters are merely allegations and that there is a presumption of innocence until Walters either pleads guilty or is found guilty in a court of law)

Issued by: Officer Stacy Chiarolanza (PIO)
