Wayne Resident Arrested for Shoplifting at Target

Fairfield (NJ) – The Fairfield Police Department announces the arrest of Iesha McKenzie, (22), of Wayne, NJ, for shoplifting on March 2, 2024.  On that date at approximately 8:29 pm, officers were dispatched to Target on a report of a shoplifter in custody.  Upon arrival, officers located McKenzie being detained by security.

 

It is alleged that McKenzie was observed on security video placing multiple items into a shopping cart and walking passed all points of sale towards the exit where she was stopped by security.  The total value shoplifted was $576.21.  During the investigation it is also alleged McKenzie provided officers with a fake name.

 

McKenzie was then placed under arrest and transported to headquarters for processing.  She was subsequently charged with shoplifting and hindering her own apprehension.  McKenzie was later released pending an initial court appearance on May 7, 2024 at the Essex County Courthouse.

 

 

(Charges are merely allegations until the defendant is proven guilty or pleads guilty in a court of law).
