Chief:
Anthony Manna

The Chief of Police is basically the CEO of the police department and is responsible for effectively and efficiently running the day to day operations of the department. The chief derives this authority through both New Jersey state statutes and by local ordinance. The chief of police, in essence, has two bosses. From a law enforcement perspective, he reports directly to the county prosecutor. In all other matters, he reports to the municipality’s designated appropriate authority. The chief of police is responsible for setting policy and procedure, administering discipline, assuring training, screening candidates for police employment, budgeting, to name just a few. The chief also serves as the face of the department at public events.
